Music of Freedom

Here is a poem I've been working on for a Homeschool Poetry Competition. The theme was freedom.

Music of Freedom

When I dance, when I sing, Oh how I feel free!
I hear the song of freedom raining down on me.

I hear the music of the street, light posts blinking, now and then.
People walking slowly by my house again
All seems to keep, the rhythm of the beat,
as I dance and as I sing.

Country horses run and move.
To my song with their beating hooves.
Makes me want to dance & sing
In the grass that is green, green, green.

Dancing in the country,
or singing in the city,
I always feel free.

Rain

Cars seem to be crying for Summer
Tree's seem to be begging for heat
Plant's say "oh v'ey!" because they need something to eat!
Rain. Oh, rain. It effects so many things.
Except me, because I get cocoa and marshmellows!

Fall & Snow

Oh! Oh! Oh! did you know that fall is like snow?!
When leaves fall off of tress all at once it's like snow!
So make time to go and play in the snow.
And oh wait, do not go...
I have one more thing about fall and snow...
They both fall to the ground and into a hole!

(p.s. maybe they are cousins!)

Candy

Candy, Candy I like it a lot.
You like Swedish Fish and I like Bubblegum Drops.
Did I mention that I like lollipops?
There is so much candy I just can't decide
which is my favorite and others besides.

The Book Full of Poems

Oh, Poems. Yes, Poems.
Oh it's a wonderful thing.
You can write it fancy, loose, or calm.
Oh, it's a wonderful thing.
Did I mention that this is a Poem?
